    History Emerson Albury supervised the construction of Abaco Rage, based on a half model of his design.  She was built in Emerson’s yard.  She won the Family Island Regatta in Georgetown in 1983 and 1984.
    In 1997 she was sold to The Abaco Rage Syndicate.  See their Facebook page and www.abacorage.net/.

    DetailsLength overall: 41', on deck: 36', on the keel: 30'; Beam: ~12'; Draft: ~4'; Hull material: Dade (county) pine; Frame material: Madiera; bronze screwed; Currently has a 4 cylinder Ford Lehman engine. 110 gal water located under the bunks - "can take out in 10 minutes". 110 gal fuel. Everything comes out easily.

    History Bill says, "She was built for Chester Lambert Bethel, a building contractor out of Nassau. She was used her for hunting trips to Andros. Mr. Bethel is mentioned in Haziel Albury's book as having brought the first generator to Man-O-War. Bill is the 5th owner, having owned her since 1983. She was previously owned by Dr. Pierce on Man-O-War.
    She had one sistership, Luggar, built prior. Emerson made the model, said to be similar to Rough Waters."

    History Carter says, "It was built for a customer in Jacksonville, Fl where I live. When it was shipped, it went to Grahams Boat Yard and the trim was added with teak. Willard told me that they did not have access to teak back then. I bought it from a boat captain who had just lost his job and was moving out west. I renovated it at my house and then put it on my boat and took it back to MOW. It used to have an inboard engine."

    Hull material: originally white cedar with 4-5 planks of US pine on the bottom as white cedar was hard to find back then, since then this has been replaced with all white cedar.
    Frame and stem material: madiera.
    Keel: originally native (Andros) pine, replaced since with pressure treated - "a good hard piece".
    Sail: the last canvas sail made by Norman Albury.

    Special notes This dinghy used to have an engine - a Briggs and Stratton single cylinder inboard. Joe it was a straight drive - ie. no transmission. [Ed. I believe typical of those engines of the time.] She still has the prop for it. Joe says he has a Honda to put in her when he has a chance.
